With the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers new US$6bn stadium over 85% complete, a time-lapse has been released to show the progress of the build.
Sofi Stadium, located in Inglewood, California, is the world’s first indoor-outdoor stadiums and will be one of the most advanced venues in professional sports when complete in the summer of 2020.
This video shows each phase of the build so far, from groundwork to construction of the concrete bowl, roof, which and scoreboard, called the Oculus.
SoFi Stadium’s EFTE roof is supported by a double cable-net system, which is the largest cable-net system in the world. The total square footage of the roof canopy is approximately 1 million square feet.
The Oculus is the only two-sided oval center-hung video board. When complete it will weigh approximately 2.2 million pounds or 1,000 metric tons. The Oculus has the largest LED content playback system ever deployed.
