The United Bid Committee of the United States, Mexico and Canada has begun its search for cities interested in serving as host cities for a 2026 FIFA World Cup proposal.
The committee has sent out official requests for information to 44 cities across the three countries. According to a statement on US Soccer, 49 stadia will be considered for inclusion in the official bid, due to be sent to FIFA by March 16, 2018. The committee intends to include 25 stadia in its FIFA proposal.
All stadia are required to have at least 40,000 seats for group stage matches, and a capacity of at least 80,000 in order to be considered for the opening match and final.
