Players and fans of the Lakeland Magic basketball team have been provided with an enhanced game-day experience at the RP Funding Center, with seven new LED video and scoring displays now installed courtside.
The digital makeover has seen the installation of displays on the end wall, ribbons and scorers’ tables, capable of showing a combination of video replays, statistics, score, graphics and sponsorship messages.
Installed this fall, two end wall video displays measure 15ft high by 28ft wide and offer improved image clarity and wide-angle viewing thanks to their 10mm line spacing. The two new ribbon 3ft displays located on the seating fascia around the arena stretch 47.5ft wide and offer complimentary stats alongside the main video screens, while three further scorers’ tables can be organized in any configuration.
Dakota-based Daktronics was chosen to design and manufacture the LED displays for the arena upgrade – part of a US$14m renovation project that began in spring 2017.
