A new ‘Fan Cam’ feature will enable visitors to the Rod Laver Arena to use the venue’s cameras to snap selfies, reports the Herald Sun. Fans watching the Australian Open will be able to visit a mobile site using their smartphone, input their seat number, and task one of the arena’s cameras to take a picture, which will then be sent to the phone.
“The Fan Cam is just one example of cutting-edge technology being used at this year’s Australian Open,” tournament director Craig Tiley told the Herald Sun. “It lets fans use their smartphone to take the ultimate selfie by using the arena’s cameras to trigger real-time pics from their seats.”
