The US$2.6bn new stadium for the Rams and Chargers in Inglewood, California, originally scheduled to open in 2019, will be delayed almost a year and is now scheduled to be ready for the start of the 2020 NFL season.
Developers, who broke ground on the project last November, have blamed the delay on record levels of rainfall during the excavation phase of the construction, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Concerns about the construction timeline for the new home of the Los Angeles Chargers and the Rams were raised over the winter, when delays of 30 days were cited. However, the situation appears to be more severe, and the project will now be pushed back significantly.
