An open-air soccer stadium in Ezhou, China, has been turned into an enormous swimming pool after heavy rainfall caused the venue to fill with water. Mingtang Stadium has been subjected to uninterrupted rainfall and high levels of flooding, with water inside the 30-year-old stadium rising above the goalposts.
While images of the stadium are currently circulating to much amusement, city officials are desperately trying to deal with the after-effects of a particularly wet summer during which 27 people have died.
