A number of professional football venues have selected Daktronics displays to enhance the stadium experience as the 2017 season gets underway.
Nine venues have turned to the expert supplier for manufacture and installation of a combined 74 displays – totaling 129,000ft². Daktronics Professional Services is also assisting 24 teams with event support, two with more specialized event production, and 12 with digital content from the company’s Daktronics Creative Services.
“The start of football always brings a lot of large projects on line for Daktronics and we’re proud to be a part of creating an exciting and entertaining gameday experience for our customers and their fans,” said Jay Parker, Daktronics vice president of live events.
“Mercedes-Benz Stadium has generated a large amount of attention with the halo display and new stadium opening, but we’ve also done a number of other great things for professional football customers this year. It’s an exciting time for us and we’re ready for the regular season to kick off.”
Surely the highest profile installation took place at the Atlanta Falcons’ new home. The Mercedes-Benz Stadium venue includes 16 LED displays totaling 83,500ft² – the centerpiece of which is the first-of-its-kind halo display built into the roof structure above the playing field. The new stadium also features four Narrow Pixel Pitch (NPP) displays with 2.5mm line spacing in club areas and as a press conference backdrop.
At the home of the Detroit Lions, Ford Field, renovations included new LED displays throughout the venue. StubHub Center upgraded its fan experience as the venue will be the new home of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017.
Other clubs that have opted for new Daktronics LED displays include the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers.
New York’s Jets and Giants will receive on-site event production from Daktronics – the company will help produce aspects of the gameday show at MetLife Stadium.
