Mercedes-Benz Stadium officials have announced that Atlanta United FC’s final regular season match will be played with the venue’s roof open, weather permitting. The match against Toronto FC is scheduled for October 22, and will be played with the stadium in expanded capacity configuration – the match looks set to break the club’s own MLS record for single-game attendance.
Work to fully automate the stadium’s retractable roof continues ahead of the Toronto match, with other public events for the rest of the season to be played under a closed roof.
