West Ham United’s Boleyn Ground will get one final hurrah before its English Premier League tenants make the move to London’s former Olympic Stadium. The stadium in east London, commonly referred to as Upton Park, will be used in the filming of an action thriller movie Final Score. Signature Entertainment will distribute the film in the UK in 2017, as detailed by The Hollywood Reporter.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to film in this unique and legendary location,” said Signature managing director, Marc Goldberg. “The Premiership is the biggest football league in the world and West Ham’s impending move from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium has been reported globally. We have a stellar team looking to deliver a US$20m non-stop action, world-class film with a unique opportunity to utilize an iconic stadium before it’s demolished. Imagine Die Hard in a soccer stadium.”
