The LA28 Organising Committee has released the most detailed version yet of its Olympic venue plan, revealing where various sports will be held and highlighting the use of Los Angeles’ most celebrated venues.
Among the newly confirmed venues are several sites in Downtown Los Angeles and Exposition Park. The University of Southern California (USC) Sports Center, previously announced as the host for badminton, will also welcome rhythmic gymnastics.
“Los Angeles is the epicentre of sports, culture and entertainment, and every venue selected for the 2028 Games will provide athletes and fans the best possible experience,” said LA28 CEO, Reynold Hoover.

Downtown’s Peacock Theater and Downtown Arena have been designated for boxing, with the former hosting preliminaries and the latter staging the finals. These venues had already been set to host weightlifting (Peacock Theater), as well as artistic gymnastics and trampoline (Downtown Arena).
These updates follow earlier confirmations that the historic LA Memorial Coliseum—an anchor venue in both the 1932 and 1984 Olympics—will once again play a central role. Nearby, Exposition Park Stadium will showcase the Olympic debut of flag football and the long-awaited return of lacrosse as a medal sport after over a century.
Downtown Los Angeles is also set to feature prominently, with Dodger Stadium confirmed as the venue for baseball’s Olympic return, reinforcing LA28’s emphasis on leveraging existing world-class facilities.
Elsewhere, squash—making its first Olympic appearance—will be showcased at the iconic Courthouse Square on the Universal Studios Lot in the San Fernando Valley, a famous setting from films like To Kill a Mockingbird and Back to the Future.

For the first time in Olympic history, the San Fernando Valley will host multiple events. Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area will be the stage for modern pentathlon and 3×3 basketball, adding to its already-announced role as host for skateboarding and BMX cycling.
This expansion into the Valley was facilitated by relocating archery to the Stadium in Carson, which was already confirmed to host rugby sevens, track cycling, hockey, and tennis—maximizing the use of that established sports complex.
LA28 will also embrace the scenic Pacific coast, with Venice Beach taking over from Long Beach as the new site for triathlon and the starting point for both the marathon and road cycling routes.
