With Super Bowl LII just over a year away, steps are already being taken to improve security at Minneapolis’s US Bank Stadium, reports KSTP. The city council has approved spending of up to US$75,000 for counter terrorism training. Reports state that up to 5,000 people within the police department, as well as team members at the Minnesota Vikings’ stadium, will benefit from the increased security training.
The stadium was recently in the news after Dakota Access Pipeline protestors smuggled materials for a banner into the stadium earlier in the year, before scaling the structure and displaying the banner.
