Ahead of the opening of the North Queensland Stadium in 2020, the new venue has officially teamed up with Ticketmaster as the ticketing agent.
The 25,000-seater stadium, which will be home to the North Queensland Cowboys rugby league side, will be supported by Ticketmaster in the form of attracting major events to the venue as well as opening dedicated ticketing outlets in Townsville, Mackay and Cairns.
“Ticketmaster has a regionally focused content strategy, and we’re committed to doing our best to attract major events to the venue, while also supporting community development,” said Ticketmaster Australia managing director Maria O’Connor.
“Our focus for North Queensland Stadium is distinctly local…we’re committed to customer service, fan engagement and providing fans a safe and secure ticketing experience, and we look forward to providing this to patrons in North Queensland.”
Ticketmaster is already the official ticketing agent to several other high-profile stadia in Australia including The Gabba and Marvel Stadium and also was involved with implementing ticketing for Optus Stadium’s opening.
“Ticketmaster’s wealth of experience in ticketing and technology has helped them lead the ticketing landscape for decades, and through their global network they can help Townsville attract major events,” said Glenn Arboitt, North Queensland Stadium manager.
