Following long queues at the entrances to the Stade Saputo for Montreal Impact’s last home game, the Canadian MLS team has announced new security measures that will be implemented to speed up access to the stadium, starting at the team’s next home game against New York City FC on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
“We will rectify the situation immediately by adding staff and by considerably increasing access points to the stadium,” said Montreal Impact executive vice president Richard Legendre.
“The customer experience is a priority for us and we will make sure that access to Stade Saputo is greatly improved, starting with our next game. However, the new security measures are also necessary, and we ask our supporters to get to the stadium as early as possible before a game.”
New security measures, including exhaustive screening of guests, have been implemented this year in MLS. Backpacks, as well as any bag over a certain size, are not allowed in the stadium.
