Nottingham Forest FC owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has reassured the club’s fans regarding the club’s safety certification. The club briefly had the City Ground’s capacity reduced to zero when no certificate holder could be found, before it was reinstated – albeit with a 20% reduction – to less than 25,000.
In a club statement, Al Hasawi offered the following: “I would like to apologize to those who could not get a ticket for our opening fixture against Burton due to the situation with our reduced capacity. We had a very positive meeting with Nottinghamshire County Council earlier in the week and we are confident the matter will be resolved soon.”
