Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, located in Midtown Memphis, Tennessee, USA, is campaigning for a US$3m upgrade to the venue’s seating, reports WBRC.
A construction permit application has been filed to install more than 5,000 premium seats, which will increase fan comfort by offering backed seating instead of bench. However, the move will reduce the stadium’s capacity – from just over 60,000 to 57,800. The University of Memphis, whose Tigers football team calls the stadium home, will be required to repay the city for the cost of the improved seating.
