The University of Alabama has partnered with Daktronics to improve the Crimson Tide fan experience for baseball events at Sewell-Thomas Stadium and for softball events at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with new 13HD LED video displays. The baseball installation is taking place this fall while the softball installation will take place this winter. Both displays will replace existing Daktronics products with newer technology.
The display at Sewell-Thomas Stadium is 18ft high and 48ft wide and the display at Rhoads Stadium will measure 23ft high and 30ft wide. Both displays will consist of a 13HD pixel layout for crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in each stadium.
Both displays will feature variable content zoning which allows them to show one large image or to be divided into multiple windows to show any variety of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information, animations and graphics, and sponsorship messages.
“We’re grateful to be extending our long-standing partnership with the University of Alabama with these two new installations as we provide the university with uniformity of equipment and control systems across multiple campus venues,” said Glen Marts, Daktronics sales representative. “We’re looking forward to seeing these new displays wow Crimson Tide fans this spring as they further enhance the game-day environment on campus.”
A content package from Daktronics Creative Services, an award-winning, in-house creative team, was included with the equipment installation. Multiple forms of digital content such as game openers, logo animations, headshots, crowd prompts or sponsorship messages will be created at the university’s request.
