The hotly anticipated Super Bowl LI will kick off on Sunday, February 5, in Houston, Texas, at NRG Stadium, a venue recently fitted with a new LED ribbon display above each end zone from Daktronics. The company’s service team will be on hand during the game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots.
For the past 13 consecutive years, the host venue of football’s biggest game has used Daktronics products to bring the best game-day experience possible to every fan in the stadium. This year, two new displays were installed, each measuring 2ft high by 343ft wide, to complement the east and west ribbon displays installed in 2014, as well as the lower 360° ribbon display installed in 2008, for a total of 4,400ft of ribbon displays working together to bring every moment to life and energize fans inside NRG Stadium. Leading up to this Sunday, nine out of a total 11 playoff games were played at facilities using Daktronics equipment.
“We’re honored to have our equipment play a part in providing an exciting and enjoyable atmosphere at Sunday’s game,” said Daktronics vice president of live events, Jay Parker. “Year after year, our products and services support the biggest moments in sports, and our longevity as a company provides a trusted source that will be here to support those moments for many years to come.”
Prior to kickoff, Daktronics Professional Services team will be on-site doing pre-event checks to ensure all the equipment is fully operational and supporting other events leading up to the game. During the game, event support staff will be on hand ensuring everything runs smoothly until well after the game is over and every fan has left the stadium.
“Our services team is no stranger to live events ranging in size from a local high school tournament to the largest stages at the professional level of sports, and providing pre-event checks and on-site support for this weekend’s game is no different,” said Daktronics vice president of services Sarah Rose. “We prepare for these moments just like the coaches and players practice for the game, and having our technicians on hand during these high-profile events provides our customers with an extra level of security and peace of mind.”
NRG Stadium also features a Daktronics marquee display in front of the venue to welcomes fans as well as promoting upcoming events.
