Daktronics has partnered with Creighton University to design, manufacture and install a new LED display and scoreboard this summer at Morrison S.J. Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska – home of the USA’s number one ranked soccer team, the Creighton Bluejays.
“Creighton University is pleased to partner with Daktronics for our scoring and graphics solutions at Michael G. Morrison S.J. Stadium,” says Bruce Rasmussen, director of athletics for Creighton University. “We were looking for a scoreboard that would inform our soccer patrons on the important aspects of the game, and also provide dynamic graphics to highlight and enhance the soccer experience at what is often referred to as the best college soccer venue in the country. Without question Daktronics hit the target.
“Not only did they meet our high expectations, but they, along with their installation partner, American Lift and Sign, manufactured, delivered and installed this product in a compressed time frame. Daktronics and Creighton University have been partners in all our athletic venues for many years, and the quality of their products and the service they deliver ensures that we will continue that relationship for many years to come.”
The display is approximately 6ft high 33.5ft wide and features a 15HD pixel layout for crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility. It has the brightness to cut through the outdoor sunlight and still provide excellent image clarity and contrast. It is capable of variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple windows to show any combination of up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
The custom soccer scoreboard measures approximately 14ft tall and 18ft wide, providing critical scoring and statistical elements for the game-day experience.
“We’re proud to be a part of the improvements at Morrison Stadium, one of the premier soccer facilities in the country,” says Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. “We were able to turn this project around on a tight timeline to have it fully operational for their homecoming game this fall. We’re excited to see it providing an extra entertainment element for fans at every event.”
