Daktronics has partnered with the University of Missouri to bring a new LED display to Tigers athletics. Daktronics will design and manufacture the display before installing it at Audrey J Walton Stadium, in Columbia, Missouri, this autumn.
“We could not be more pleased with the new video installation in our soccer and track venue,” said David Bartlett, director of production for Mizzou Athletics.
“Faced with heavily damaged existing equipment and a very tight delivery schedule, Daktronics committed to meeting our requirements and then delivered on that commitment in an outstanding way. The system exceeded our expectations and now provides an enhanced in-venue experience for our student athletes and patrons alike. We are grateful to Daktronics for our long-standing relationship and the excellent service they provide in support of our educational mission to ‘Prepare Champions for Life!'”
The new display, to be installed at one end of the field behind the goal, will measure approximately 12ft high and 20.5ft wide. Featuring a 15HD pixel layout, wide angle visibility and incorporating industry-leading environmental protection the display will join several previously installed Daktronics displays to enhance the fan experience at Tiger’s soccer games and track-and-field meets.
The display is capable of variable content zoning, a feature that allows it to show a single large image or divide the display area into multiple zones filled with any combination of live video, instant replays, scoring information, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsor highlights.
“On behalf of everyone at Daktronics, we are very excited to partner with ‘Mizzou Athletics’ to provide our new 15HD technology to Walton Stadium” said Ryan Kuzman, sales representative, Daktronics. “This project demanded a very tight installation timeframe to accommodate their first event and our staff did an outstanding job to make this project an overwhelming success.”
