At this year’s Trophee des Champions, Paris Saint-Germain took on Stade Rennais at the Shenzhen Universiade Center in China. The on-field action was watched by 31,000 spectators and surrounding the pitch was LED perimeter displays beaming digital content to fans and television audiences.
Modern sports venues have adopted new technologies to display advertising and sponsor messages, and digital perimeter LED displays have become a popular option.
Absen was the display supplier of the event and provided 200 panels of perimeter LED with 9mm resolution, which was installed along three sides of the field.
Featuring high contrast ratio, refresh rate and gray scale, as well as wide viewing angle, Absen’s UEFA-standard sports display solution is able to maximize the value for the sponsor partners. The LED panels also boast IP65 waterproof design and player-protective details such as the soft module mask and mat.
“In order to achieve the best results, the Absen team have been working very closely with the organizers, as always,” said Allen Lv, Absen sports engineer onsite. “We monitored the system closely and performed multiple tests before the game was played in the evening. I’m very proud that the Absen system performed well and sponsors’ content was delivered smoothly.”
The Trophee des Champions, otherwise known as the French Super Cup, was held in Shenzhen for the second time, and saw PSG retain their title with a 2-1 win.
