The operators of the Red Bull Arena have announced a plan to host concerts and live entertainment events beginning in 2017 at the venue. The 25,000-seat, two-level stadium, located in Harrison, New Jersey, is home to the MLS side New York Red Bulls.
The stadium opened in March 2010, and features a translucent roof, letting in natural light, yet shielding seats within the bowl from precipitation.
“We are very excited to bolster our concert and live entertainment offerings for consumers in the New York Metro Area,” Marc de Grandpre, general manager of the New York Red Bulls said in a statement on the club’s website.
“Red Bull Arena will be a destination that creates a world-class experience for entertainers and an enjoyable, accessible and safe entertainment venue for fans.”
Red Bull Arena has hired music industry veteran Bettie Levy, CEO of BCL Entertainment, to oversee strategy and booking for all concerts, festivals and music initiatives at the venue.
The team has also announced an official partnership with Arenas Parks & Stadium Solutions (APSS), a leading provider of facility solutions. As part of the multiyear deal, APSS will become the official paint and flooring contractor of the New York Red Bulls – and will provide services for painting and flooring renovations or upgrades to both Red Bull Arena and the Red Bulls Training Facility.
The deal signifies the first partnership with an MLS club for APSS. Current APSS marketing partnership deals in the sports and entertainment industries include AEG, Live Nation, the Buffalo Bills, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Houston Astros, and the Buffalo Sabres. The company has also established relationships with Aramark, the New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, the Detroit Tigers, the Atlanta Hawks and MCU Park.
“It is truly an honor to be named the preferred painting and flooring contractor of the New York Red Bulls,” said Vinny Caccamo, director of sales for Arenas Parks & Stadium Solutions. “Through this partnership we’ll have the opportunity to expand our business worldwide and break into the soccer market.”
“We are very pleased to welcome Arenas Parks and Stadium Solutions into the Red Bulls’ family,” added de Grandpre. “Our world-class facilities aim to provide the best experience for players as well as our loyal supporter base. We are proud to be the first MLS club to partner with APSS.”
