In four years’ time Qatar will be hosting its own FIFA World Cup, and to give local soccer fans a taste for the tournament the Khalifa International Stadium will be creating the country’s largest fan zone and showing live matches from the 2018 event in Russia, on giant LED screens.
Created by Aspire Zone Foundation, which also set up fan zones for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, an area inside the stadium will offer seating for approximately 1,000 members of the public complete with air conditioning, food and beverage concessions, a children’s play zone, parking and, of course, large screens for clear viewing of the action.
Details of pricing and availability are yet to be released, however there will be the option to purchase preferred seating options and the chance to choose partitioning for privacy and dining services.
“AZF is proud to utilize its world-class stadium and one of the iconic 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar venues, Khalifa International Stadium,” said Nasser Abdullah Al Hajri, director of PR and communications at AZF.
“Fans will get to experience the stadium’s facilities and cutting-edge technology, and get first-hand experience in what it feels like to experience the games in the stadium that’s set to host the very same tournament, the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, in four years’ time.”
