LaLiga has announced that the Estadio Martínez Valero, home to Spanish professional football club Elche CF, will be redeveloped to offer better services and an enhanced experience for fans. The club will work together with IDOM to renovate the stadium.
Starting in January 2025, the renovation, which will be divided into several phases, will be carried out over an 18-month period. It will notably involve work on the exterior of the stadium, including a modern, white covering with green details, reflecting the club’s colours. In addition, space will be created for new commercial areas and passageways, which will be covered by the façade. These commercial and leisure spaces will be able to provide better services for fans.
The redevelopment will also include the installation of a covering on the upper ring of the Tribuna stand, protecting supporters from inclement weather. Moreover, the VIP areas will be enhanced, extending the boxes to the Preferencia stands and adapting them to meet the demands of fans at LaLiga matches.
A perimeter fence is set to be installed around the stadium and negotiations are underway with the city council regarding the transfer of the plots of land in front of the Tribuna stand. Talks are also taking place with the owners of land adjacent to the stadium to discuss the possibility of acquiring it.
Elche CF aims to complete the works by September 2026, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Estadio Martínez Valero and the start of the 2026/27 season.
With the slogan ‘The home of the stripe is reborn’, the club is keen to be a benchmark for design, comfort, experience and sustainability with this project. Elche CF want to ensure they have a more comfortable and more accessible stadium, one with commercial areas that will allow fans to enjoy more complete experience, both on match days and the rest of the year too.
