The Texas Rangers have unveiled plans for a new stadium in Arlington – provided that the taxpayers pick up half the tab. As Sports Day reports, the club has announced that it could replace Globe Life Park – which is only 22 years old – with a US$1bn retractable-roof stadium that will ensure the Rangers link with the city until 2053. The cost would be split between the city’s taxpayers and the team, with the Rangers being responsible for any over-expenditure.
