A report written for the Australian government has outlined plans for three possible sports venues in Sydney, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The trio of venues – including a A$800m (US$588m), 55,000-seat stadium to replace the Allianz Stadium at Moore Park – would cost A$1.85bn (US$1.36bn).
Also included in the report were mentions of a A$150m (US$110m) indoor arena for netball, basketball and tennis, and a 30,000-seater replacement for Pirtek Stadium, estimated to cost A$300m (US$220m).
The confidential report – details of how the Telegraph obtained the information are not clear – also specifies spending A$300m (US$220m) on the ANZ Stadium in coming years, either fully roofing the 83,500-seater venue or moving lower-level seats closer to the field.
