San Diego’s plans for a new Chargers stadium received a welcome boost after county officials approved US$500,000 toward legal and financial consultants for use in negotiations with the team.
Negotiations between a panel of NFL owners and stadium officials are set to take place next week – aimed at keeping the team in San Diego, instead of moving to Los Angeles.
The announcement comes just days after a judge ruled that voter approval would not be needed before the spending of tax dollars on the proposed new venue.
