The project to build a soccer stadium for Minnesota United has hit a significant milestone with final approval granted by the St Paul City Council, reports the Star Tribune.
Plans for the stadium, and development of the site around it, are progressing well – despite the fact that the announcement of Minnesota United as an MLS franchise is yet to take place, though it is expected shortly.
The 20,000-seat stadium has been given an early project estimate of US$150m, and has been designed by Populous. The 16-acre stadium will be built on a vacant plot owned by the Metropolitan Council.
