English soccer club Gloucester City AFC has released an update detailing progress toward full planning approval for the club’s new stadium.
While Gloucester City had hoped to put the application in by the end of October, progress has taken longer than expected. The club has been without an official home stadium since flooding in 2007 forced the team to move away from its Meadow Park stadium. Since then, Gloucester has been ground-sharing at Cheltenham Town’s Whaddon Road.
The application for a new stadium at Meadow Park – a 4,000-seat venue raised several feet higher than the previous ground, is expected to go through during November.
The club still expects to achieve full planning permission early in 2016.
