English Premier League soccer team Chelsea FC has lodged planning application for the club’s new stadium. The design, which will replace the club’s existing Stamford Bridge ground, will have a capacity of 60,000. All the relevant documentation for the proposed stadium is available for viewing on the planning portal of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
In a club statement, Chelsea also thanked those parties which had taken part in a consultation process regarding the new stadium. The club also highlighted how the new stadium would provide outstanding views from every seat, an exciting atmosphere, and improved travel links to Fulham Broadway station.
The planning process, the club revealed, will last beyond the end of the current season. If the application is granted, the statement continues, “there will still be a lot of work to do before redevelopment can start, including obtaining various other consents.”
