AC Milan has claimed that its new stadium will be one of the most innovative in the world, as the club released further details about the project.
The 48,000-seater venue, to be developed in the Portello area of the city, will peak at 30m in height – half the height of the San Siro – with another 10m being underground so as to cause minimal impact on the surrounding area.
According to the club, the team responsible for the new stadium has studied 70 soccer venues around the world, with the stadium’s design taking “inspiration from the English model: a stadium that can be reached by public transport and by doing so encourages fans to be more environmentally aware”.
AC Milan has claimed that state-of-the-art sound-proofing materials will minimise noise disturbances throughout the city, while the stadium will be built ‘with particular attention towards families, with the latest comforts and best in security’.
