The most expensive high school football stadium in the USA – with costs reported to have risen to US$70m – will be named Legacy Stadium. Katy ISD’s board of trustees unanimously approved the name for the facility, which will open in the fall of 2017. The 12,000-seat stadium was named in line with the institution’s theme for its academy sports and outdoor complex – ‘Be the legacy’ – and the field will be named in honor of former coach Mike Johnston.
