Second-tier German soccer club Greuther Fürth has sold the naming rights to its home stadium to local real estate mogul Thomas Sommer, reports Soccerex.
The stadium, previously known as the Stadion am Laubenweg, will be renamed the Sportpark Rohnhof/Thomas Sommer – a combination of the name of the new investor and a previous stadium title.
“The issue of naming rights has indeed occupied us for some time,” explained Greuther Fürth president, Helmut Hack. “We have always tried not to neglect the traditional approach. We have now found a partner who gives us on the one had, the necessary economic conditions, and on the other hand, returns the traditional name of our stadium.”
