German club FC Augsburg has announced that its home stadium will be sponsored by WWK Insurance – and will be rechristened the WWK Arena from the start of the forthcoming season.
WWK Insurance was unveiled as Augsburg’s primary sponsor in April, and has signed a 10-year deal to act as the title sponsor for the former SGL Arena.
The announcement was made at the presentation ceremony for Augsburg’s new kit, which also features WWK as the main shirt sponsor.
“We are happy to take this further step toward a long-term, close cooperation with WWK Insurance. WWK is the right partner for us and we are delighted to be able to continue the successful development of FC Augsburg together,” said FC Augsburg president Klaus Hofmann.
