Reports from a number of leading news and sports outlets suggest that FC Barcelona’s board is meeting to discuss the possibility of renaming the club’s iconic Camp Nou after former player Johan Cruyff, who died recently.
Cruyff enjoyed a successful spell with the Catalan soccer club, before returning to manage the team to four La Liga titles, three Spanish Super Cups, the Copa del Rey, European Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the Cup Winner’s Cup.
Spanish outlet Sport reports that the majority of FC Barcelona fans approve the proposed name change.
