The Palace of Auburn Hills, home to the NBA’s Detroit Pistons, has had a new LED lighting system installed by Musco Lighting.
Featuring advanced optics with pinpoint lighting control to reduce glare for HD broadcasts and for spectators in the arena, Musco’s solution reduces energy consumption by 77% compared to the Pistons’ previous lights. Other features of the new system include instant on/off/dimming controls to help conserve energy and allow for special effects and optimized structural, electrical, and lighting components for reliable, long-term performance.
“We are pleased to utilize Musco’s customized lighting system at The Palace of Auburn Hills,” said Mario Etemad, executive vice president for Palace Sports & Entertainment. “Musco’s system helps reduce our energy consumption and, at the same time, delivers a memorable fan experience when viewing event action at the arena and from home.”
Musco has provided lighting solutions using an LED light source at Wells Fargo Center, home of the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Texas’ NRG Stadium, Twickenham Stadium and Denver Broncos’ Field House.
