English Premier League soccer club West Ham United FC has had a capacity increase of 3,000 approved for its stadium, bringing the team’s new London home up to 57,000, reports Sky Sports.
The safety certificate for the figure has been approved, but the club still intends to pursue an official capacity of 60,000 for the former Olympic Stadium. Newham Council has approved the initial rise, and the club has reiterated its commitment to achieving the maximum capacity figure.
