Orlando City Soccer Club has announced that vertical construction on the team’s new stadium has begun, reports the Orlando Business Journal.
When it’s completed in 2017, the 25,500-seater stadium will feature 4,600 tons of steel, and the club’s revelation that vertical construction on the north side of the venue has begun will be an encouragement to those involved in the project.
The Orlando City Lions are currently based in the Citrus Bowl, with plans to move to the new stadium before the start of the 2017 MLS season.
