Mortenson Construction has confirmed that the project team at the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center, future home of the Milwaukee Bucks, reached an important construction milestone in early May – the team successfully placed the first roof truss for the arena project. The installation took about 10 minutes and involved lifting a 23 ton, 250ft steel truss into place.
This milestone marks the beginning of a series of additional roof truss installations in the coming months. The grade 65 steel beams required for the roof trusses arrived in the Port of Milwaukee in November 2016. They were then trucked to Merrill Iron & Steel for fabrication before being transported back for on-site assembly and installation.
