Sports and leisure hospitality specialists Levy UK + Ireland has announced that it has renewed its partnerships with both the Kia Oval and Jockey Club racecourses.
Following news that the government plans for large scale events to safely reopen this summer as part of the ‘Roadmap out of Lockdown’, Levy has said that it and ‘their key partners will continue to provide hospitality, which offers food and beverage experiences, sustainable practices, innovative technology solutions and people first principles.’
Levy’s renewed contract with Jockey Club Racecourses, the UK’s largest racecourse group, will see the caterer extend their catering venture, Jockey Club Catering, for a further three years. Jockey Club Catering launched in 2009 with an initial ten-year partnership agreement to provide grade one catering, hospitality and service at The Jockey Club’s racecourses nationwide, which include those at Aintree, Cheltenham, Epsom Downs and Newmarket. Since its inception, Jockey Club Catering has proved highly successful, driving growth in catering revenues at The Jockey Club’s 15 racecourses, while expanding and enhancing the food and beverage offer, facilities and experience for guests enjoying a day at the races.
The renewal of Levy’s contract with The Kia Oval, home of Surrey CCC, represents a five-year extension to the current partnership, which will see Levy providing food and drink experiences at the venue until at least February 2027. Levy will work in partnership with The Kia Oval to build on the venue’s sustainability initiatives, with all drinks served in a recyclable, reusable glass or in a washable glass vessel including the removal of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles, including those used for water.
Jon Davies, managing director at Levy UK + Ireland said: “As sports and entertainment fans across the country look forward to a return to large-scale events on the back of the pandemic, Levy UK + Ireland is proud to extend its partnership with both of these fantastic venues, and is keen to build on the already innovative customer experiences it provides. As part of our Levy Cares initiative, we remain committed to reducing waste produced within our venues whilst continuing to provide a wide range of innovative and exciting food and drink experiences for guests, while remaining an employer who cares for our people. We can’t wait to welcome visitors back.”
