Wigan Athletic and the DW Stadium have announced that Centerplate has become the stadium’s new concourse catering providers, with immediate effect.
Centerplate, which partners with more than 300 premier event venues across the USA, Canada, and the UK, will assist with design and construction as well as new menus and service offerings.
“We researched several different companies and we feel that Centerplate’s experience and vision will play a critical role in bringing about the changes we would like to see at the DW,” said Andy Birch, DW Stadium operations manager. “Such changes cannot happen overnight, this will be an evolution as we seek to modernize the provision of our concourse services over the coming months.”
“We are extremely excited to partner with the club to bring to life its vision for gameday experiences through new design, menus and service offerings,” said Adrian Dishington, chief operating officer of Centerplate’s UK division.
Jonathan Jackson, Wigan Athletic’s chief executive officer, added, “We listened to our supporters as part of the process of choosing new caterers. It was clear that a change was required in terms of both the choices offered and the presentation of the kiosks on the concourses at the DW Stadium.
“Centerplate is a very experienced international catering brand who work in many different areas and we are delighted to begin our partnership with them.
“We must stress that we remain committed to providing value for money for our supporters on match day and look forward to working with Centerplate.”
