Warwickshire County Cricket Club in the UK has agreed a new partnership with Total Gas & Power to be the official energy supplier to the club’s Edgbaston Stadium.
The partnership is Total Gas & Power’s first venture in cricket, with an exclusive gas and electricity supply deal agreed on a one-year term with the opportunity to extend.
Gareth Roberts, commercial director of Warwickshire CCC, said, “Total is one of the biggest global energy providers and a fantastic brand to support Warwickshire CCC as we enter the biggest year of major match cricket in Edgbaston’s history.
“As well as exclusive gas and electricity supply, Total will work with our energy efficiency consultants Amber Energy to support our goal of making Edgbaston the most socially responsible sports stadium in the UK. We look forward to working with the team.”
Edgbaston will host 11 days of major match cricket in 2017, with five matches – including England v Australia, India v Pakistan, and a semi-final in the ICC Champions Trophy, an Investec Test Match between England and West Indies, and NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day.
Dave Cranfield, vice president business division Europe, Total, added, “We’ve made a commitment to being the responsible energy major worldwide. A crucial aspect of this is working with our customers to help them achieve their energy efficiency goals. Our relationship with Warwickshire CCC is a great example of this in action.”
