The design for a proposed new 5,000-seat soccer stadium in Gloucestershire, England, has been whittled down to two competing bids, reports the BBC. The new stadium will be home to Forest Green Rovers FC, a soccer club competing in England’s National League – the fifth tier in national soccer.
A design competition saw almost 50 proposals submitted from international firms. Nine were shortlisted, before the two remaining bids – from Zaha Hadid Architects and Glenn Howells Architects – were selected. The new stadium will form part of a US$130m sports and green technology business park project, with the winning design to be selected in September.
