London’s Wembley Stadium has been selected to be the host venue of the Champions League 2023 final, it has ben confirmed.
UEFA revealed the largest club soccer competition in the world will take place at the 90,000-seater home to the England National soccer team, on the stadium’s centenary year – with the original Empire Stadium opened on the site in 1923.
UEFA revealed other host venues for the 2021 and 2022 finals will be held in St Petersburg, Russia and Munich’s Allianz Arena respectively.
The upcoming 2020 final location, which has been announced for a long time, will be the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul.
It will be the third time in 12 years that the Champions League final has been held in London, and the eighth time Wembley stadium has hosted the event – the last time being 2013.
