The 2019 NFL Draft, which took place in Nashville, Tennessee, has broken records as the highest watched and attended Draft of all-time.
A combination of broadcast, cable and digital viewing culminated in 47.6 million viewers tuning in to watch the next class of NFL stars picked for their new teams as well as 600,000 fans filling the streets in Nashville, making it the highest attended Draft ever.
Last year’s event also set new records but this year television audiences were up 5% across the three-day event, which was broadcast live and shattered the 250,000 attendees figure from 2018.
“The 2019 NFL Draft was a tremendous continuation of the celebration of the NFL’s 100th season and an opportunity to welcome the next generation of stars,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
“Dramatic and emotional storylines played out in cities across the country with the energetic host city of Nashville serving as a breathtaking backdrop to hundreds of thousands of passionate fans who lined the streets and enjoyed a unique NFL Draft Experience.
“We congratulate our newest players and their families and thank the Tennessee Titans, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp., the City of Nashville, the volunteers, and everyone who made the Draft such a memorable, entertaining, and successful experience.”
