South Dakota firm Daktronics has partnered with Citizens Business Bank Arena to design, manufacture and install a new centerhung LED display system in the Ontario, California, venue this autumn.
The square-shaped centerhung system will consist of four main video displays. Each will be 11.5ft (3.5m) high by 21ft (6.5m) wide, bringing larger-than-life imagery to fans in every seat. Connecting the corners of the main displays will be four wedge-shaped displays, each 11.5ft high by 3ft (0.9m) wide. Four displays form a ring round the configuration, each 2ft (0.6m) high by 21ft wide. Each display features tight 6-mm line spacing, to bring increased resolution and image quality to viewers.
“We have worked with Citizens Business Bank Arena since it opened in 2008, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to continue to partner with them for their upgraded centerhung video display system,” said Robin Hall, Daktronics regional manager. “The fans will benefit from larger displays with LED corners to improve their overall experience. Home teams and their partners will have greater opportunities for their promotions as well.”
The main displays are capable of variable content zoning, enabling each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replay, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
Citizens Business Bank Arena is a 225,000ft² (21,000m2²) venue built and owned by the City of Ontario. It is home to AHL hockey team Ontario Reign, and Ontario Fury, a Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) soccer team.
