After two years and US$28m of investment the Arizona Cardinals have unveiled a number of upgrades to its University of Arizona Stadium, including lounges and bar areas as well as new technology.
Cardinals president Michael Bidwill led a tour for fans, showing off the new additions to the stadium, which he believes were an essential investment in securing the 2023 Super Bowl and recent Final Four events at the venue.
The first phase of the renovations began in 2017 when the Cardinals renovated the Flight Lounge and added the Bubble Lounge and 10 additional beer taps in the club level.
The latest upgrades to be unveiled include a speakeasy lounge and full-service bar called The Tail Feather, a new buffet lounge called the Bird’s Nest, and new bars and food service in all four corners on the club level.
Fans will also notice renovated restrooms, new flooring, lighting and technology at club level with a greater number of television and an upgraded sound system – all in time for the kick-off of the 2018 NFL season on September 16.
“We knew from focus groups and some of the other research that these were going to be very popular,” said Bidwill in a club statement. “But (it’s) until you actually hear it from the fans on game days. That was very rewarding to hear today. I’m excited. I know everybody’s going to love it.”
