Levi’s Stadium, the home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, is to change its current concession stand provider, Centerplate, and seek a new F&B partner.
According to Mercury News, the decision to replace Centerplate as food and beverage provider, which has been supplying the stadium since 2014, will result in the elimination of 759 jobs.
Centerplate provides concession servers as well as chefs, bartenders, suite attendants and warehouse workers at Levi’s Stadium – with all being at risk with the appointment of a new F&B supplier.
However, according to the Mercury News report, the new concession partner is required by contract to hire existing employees.
“We are in the final stages of the evaluation and selection process of a new concessions provider for the venue and we look forward to presenting our recommendations to the Santa Clara Stadium Authority on Tuesday,” the report quotes the NFL team stating.
