English Premier League soccer club Tottenham Hotspur has announced that it has selected Schneider Electric as its official energy management supplier to its new state-of-the-art stadium.
The relationship will see Schneider Electric provide the club with solutions to distribute power supply throughout the new stadium as well as integrating systems for operational efficiency.
“Schneider Electric is a leading provider of energy and building management systems and we are delighted to announce its role in the stadium project. We have the utmost confidence in their ability to deliver a best-in-class energy management system, which will power one of the most technologically advanced stadiums in the world,” said Matthew Collecott, director of operations, Tottenham Hotspur.
The new 62,062-seat north London venue features advanced technology such as a retractable pitch and the build is slated to be completed later this year, with the EPL side originally hoping to be moved in by the start of the 2018-19 season.
Schneider Electric will introduce its EcoStruxture platform within the stadium’s infrastructure to provide real-time monitoring of power, lighting conditions and temperature carrying out 60,000 checks every hour on-site as well as having experts at the venue on matchdays.
“We are delighted to partner with Tottenham Hotspur to create one of the world’s most compelling venues for sport and entertainment. By embracing digitization and automation, the stresses associated with hosting and attending live events can be alleviated. Together, we will develop a next-generation customer experience for sports fans; one that is only achievable with the latest technology,” said Mike Hughes, UK zone president, Schneider Electric.
