English Premier League club Southend United Football Club will hold a public exhibition of proposals for revised plans regarding the club’s relocation to Fossetts Farm. In a statement released by the club, interested parties are invited to come to consultations on October 23 or 24.
“The development forms part of wider plans by Martin Dawn to construct a new football stadium for Southend United. Martin Dawn is in advanced discussions with British Land to forward fund the retail development and which will facilitate the first phase of the new stadium,” reads an extract from the statement.
The plans for Fossetts Farm involve a new 21,000-seat stadium incorporating a 131 bed hotel and residential development, an 11-12 screen cinema, and retail and restaurant floorspace together with related ancillary infrastructure. In addition, two soccer domes will be developed, one for the use of the community and one for Southend United Football Club, which will use the facility for training purposes and the club’s academy.
