Cardiff City FC in the UK has been shortlisted for Best Venue Project at the 2016 Install Awards.
The nomination comes on the back of nearly a year’s worth of digital improvements throughout Cardiff City Stadium (CCS), the home of the English Football League Championship soccer club.
This has seen the addition of nine new Ricoh HD projectors, which range from 120-179in and adorn each of the stands and hospitality zones at CCS, showing live matches on game day as well as a wealth of in-house club content that promotes all levels of soccer, as well as weekly Bluebirds news.
In addition, the club now has digital signage and stat zones throughout its hospitality areas and concourses – delivered by Tripleplay to Sony TVs – while the establishment of a stadium app, now with over 9,000 subscribers, and an IPTV network allows Cardiff City FC to send key messages out to more digital platforms than ever before, maximizing reach, the effect of club content and value for sponsors.
“I’m delighted to see that the club is being recognized at a national level for its significant improvements in this field,” said executive director and CEO Ken Choo.
“The degree of digital enhancement throughout the stadium further exemplifies our commitment to supporters and the betterment of the match-day experience.”
